Age Requirement:
You must be 18 years of age or older to purchase any regulated collectible item from Hobby Maniaz. This includes, but is not limited to, swords, replica swords, cosplay weapon props, knives, axes, and similar collectible items, whether sharpened or unsharpened.
Compliance with Laws:
By placing an order with Hobby Maniaz, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older, and that you are legally permitted to purchase and possess metal blade props, replica swords, or regulated collectible items in your state or territory. You acknowledge that all items are intended strictly for lawful purposes such as cosplay, private collection, or display, and you agree to comply with all applicable laws and requirements relating to the lawful possession, storage, transport, and handling of these items.
SPECIFIC REGULATIONS FOR SOUTH AUSTRALIA :
South Australia has strict controls on prohibited weapons. From 1 July 2025, swords and machetes are classified as prohibited weapons in South Australia, and unlawful possession, use, or dealing may attract serious penalties.
Hobby Maniaz operates in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements relating to the sale and supply of regulated items, including replica swords and cosplay weapon props. Our business has been formally acknowledged in relation to dealing with such items. All products are supplied strictly for lawful purposes such as cosplay, private collection, and display.
All orders containing prohibited items shipped to South Australia are processed in the same manner as Victoria, including compliance checks where required.
SPECIFIC REGULATIONS FOR VICTORIA:
Prohibited Items:
The following items are generally classified as prohibited weapons and are subject to restrictions:
Swords Swords (including steel-bladed and replica swords)
Daggers (defined as double-edged knives)
Crossbows
Butterfly Swords
Machetes (explicitly classified as prohibited weapons from from 1 September 2025)
These items cannot be lawfully purchased, possessed, sold, or imported without a valid exemption or approval.
🔔 Important Notice: All orders containing regulated or prohibited items shipped to Victoria are subject to verification and compliance requirements. Customers must provide valid proof of exemption or approval permitting lawful possession of the item, along with valid identification where required. Orders cannot be dispatched until all required documentation has been received and verified. Hobby Maniaz reserves the right to request additional documentation, delay shipment until compliance requirements are satisfied, or cancel and refund orders where valid exemption documentation cannot be provided.
